Veterans returning from military service have four choices when leaving the active duty:
- Get a job and work for someone else;
- Go back to school;
- Become a tradesperson;
- Or start their own businesses.
SCORE wants to help if the choice is entrepreneurship. SCORE has been a leader in providing mentoring and training to entrepreneurs through its network of 13,000 volunteer mentors and trainers. SCORE stands ready to answer the call of helping our veterans to transition into life as entrepreneurs.
Veterans will need counseling and training and SCORE OC, along with SBA Orange County, has joined up with Camp Pendleton’s Military Transition Assistance Programs to provide day and a half events to help veterans and their families decide whether or not entrepreneurship is the right choice. “It’s an opportunity to give back to those who have made a tremendous sacrifice for us,” says chapter chair Dennis Wright.
The next event takes place in late July. If you’d like more information, please call SCORE OC at 714-550-7369 and ask for Dennis Wright.
